Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)

In this chapter, we review how to perform an ANOVA test.

When is the ANOVA test used?

The ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) test will be used:

  • to determine if there are differences between quantitative variables
  • to compare several groups simultaneously

Where do we also see ANOVA results?

We see them when performing a regression. We are given an ANOVA table as part of the regression output:
