PROGRAM SUMMARY<\/span><\/h1>\r\n<\/header><\/div>\r\nFrom 2019-2022, Dr. Robin Cox<\/a> and the Resilience by Design Lab<\/a> team from Royal Roads University<\/a> developed and ran a climate adaptation capacity-building program for working professionals in British Columbia, Canada.<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\r\nFunded by\u00a0Natural Resources Canada\u2019s Building Regional Adaptation Capacity and Expertise (BRACE)<\/a> program, and the BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy<\/a>, the program set out to do 3 things:\r\n\r\n \t- Develop a Competency Framework for Climate Adaptation<\/a>;<\/li>\r\n \t
- Create and deliver a suite of 10 courses<\/a>;<\/li>\r\n \t
- Build a professional learning network<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nAs additional needs emerged during the program, they added other projects to develop a set of Open Educational Resources<\/a> for all the courses, create a Micro-Credential Strategy<\/a> and explore opportunities for a new, national online hub<\/a> for climate adaptation.\r\n\r\nThe ten stories published here describe this work, highlight outcomes and offer lessons learned to inform future capacity-building efforts.
