Do I need Math? Yes. Yes you do:
Analytics is built on many areas of math! We won’t go into huge depth, but I’ll put in some references to great resources.
- Statistics: It’s not an open text, but I’ll recommend a book I co-authored: Essentials of Business Statistics. This includes topics such as:
- Hypothesis testing
- Confidence intervals
- ANOVA and Chi-Square tests
- Calculus: My current favourite resource is at https://activecalculus.org/. This is such a great open resource, I wish I’d thought of it!
- Linear Algebra: I’ve only read part of this book, but based on the fact that it’s written by Gilbert Strang, who wrote the Linear Algebra textbook that lives permanently on my office bookcase, so I can reference it I’ll go ahead. https://math.mit.edu/~gs/learningfromdata/. I believe you can poke around and find some videos from the author.
