2 Workflow, tools

The world of Business Analytics uses many tools, which won’t all be covered here.

These fall into two main categories: Scripting Languages and Self-serve analytics tools.

Scripting languages include:

• R
• Python
• SQL (which is not covered in this book)
• Any other programming language such as C++, Matlab, Maple, ect.

Self-serve Analytics tools include:

• Excel, with its power suite
• Microsoft PowerBI
• Tableau
• Alteryx
• SAP Cloud Analytics

We will deal with 3 tools: Excel because it is used in most businesses, R and Python.
