This second group of regular verbs in French have infinitives that end in -ir. Notice how the endings change. The plural forms, in particular, insert -iss- between the stem and the usual -er endings we’ve seen before.
To conjugate any regular -ir verbs, you need to identify the stem (le radical) by removing -ir from the infinitive form (finir →fin) and remember the six present tense endings specific to -ir verbs: -is,-is,-it,-issons,-issez,-issent

Pronunciation hints: the three singular forms sound the same as the final consonnant is silent (finis, finis, finit). The final consonant’s of the plural forms are also silent (finissons, finissez, finissent). Some examples:
Juan finit la vaisselle. (Juan finishes the dishes.)
Nous finissons l’examen. (We finish the exam.)

(a) Finir and choisir require de when followed by an infinitive.

(b) Obéir, réussir and réfléchir often require à before their objects.
