Le passé composé: irregular past participles
Just like English French has many irregular past participles. Below are a number of common irregular past participles you will need to memorized. We will be practicing those in class. Use these along with the avoir auxiliary to form the passé composé to state what happened.

| boire | bu | J’ai bu une tasse de café ce matin. | (I drank a cup of coffee this morning). |
| pleuvoir | plu | Il a plu hier. | (It rained yesterday.) |
