Define the roles of healthcare professionals and the contributions they make to the healthcare team (or describe your own role and the roles of those in other professions)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n \n\nThis case  describes a patient\u2019s experience of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with a history of asthma. The interprofessional collaboration is role modelled between nursing, medical radiology, medical laboratory, and healthcare workers in the emergency department.\n\nNote:<\/strong> The core story told here is used in both Erin Johns and Miki Huang case studies. Erin Johns is a  simpler version with the patient being a native English speaker and her own patient advocate.  The Miki Huang case reintroduces  the storyline but expands her story - as a non-English speaker and relying on family to be her advocate - along with more details for more advanced study in health sciences.  Miki's story can be found at Patient: Miki Huang<\/a>\n","rendered":"
