Biography:

Yiming Shao graduated from Qingdao Medical School in 1983 and got his doctor degree on virology and immunology from Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine in 1988. Dr. Shao is currently Chief Expert on AIDS, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Director of the Division of Research on Virology and Immunology at the National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention. He received numerous national science awards and published more than 500 research papers in scientific journals, including over 160 papers in SCI journals.

Yiming Shao has set up a network to track genetic variation in HIV, and the project grew into an international resource.
