Welcome to <\/strong>Diverse Scientists,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0our Open Source textbook!<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nWhy did we create this resource?<\/strong><\/span>\r\n\r\nWe developed this resource to showcase the invaluable contributions of diverse scientists. In our experience, it has been challenging to locate materials that celebrate scientists from various backgrounds and science disciplines. While many are familiar with figures like Einstein, our book shifts the spotlight to scientists who identify as IBPOC<\/strong> and their intersections, highlighting their remarkable and positive impacts on our world.\r\n\r\nWho do we think could use this resource?<\/strong><\/span>\r\n\r\nWe initially designed this resource with our teacher candidates in mind, but we believe it has the potential to benefit educators and students not only across British Columbia but also throughout Canada and beyond. <\/span>\r\n\r\nWhile each page establishes connections to various subjects within the BC high school Science curriculum, we hope that the content is versatile enough to be adapted for any curriculum with an interest in showcasing diverse scientists.<\/span>\r\n\r\nHow to use this resource?<\/strong><\/span>\r\n\r\nWe suggest beginning with the Table of Contents.
