Overview<\/h1>\r\nFor Lab 5 you will identify the 8 sedimentary rock samples in your lab kit based on observations of their texture and composition. The samples include the following sedimentary rocks:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Chert<\/td>\r\nCoquina<\/td>\r\nSandstone (arkose)<\/td>\r\nSiltstone<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n

Samples to Use for Lab 5<\/h1>\r\nUse the samples with \"RSe\" in the sample number. They are numbered 340RSe through 410RSe. You will also need the Lab 5 worksheet that came with your lab materials.\r\n

What to Do Next<\/h1>\r\nUse the Lab 5 worksheet (Figure 4.3) to record your observations and guide you through the identification process for each sedimentary rock in your set.\r\n\r\nRefer to Figure 4.4 to help you match your observations with a name.
