Other Sentence-Level Concerns

Run-on sentences and fragments are the most disruptive issues with sentence structure. We want to get rid of those at all costs.

But other issues can disrupt the clarity of a sentence as well. The more aware you are of these potential issues, the more mindful you can be when you craft and refine your own sentences.

In this part of the book we’re going to discuss three of these lesser structural concerns: subject-verb agreement, passive voice, and parallel structure.
