In acknowledging the first stewards of this land, who were violently supplanted by the colonialist-settler state of Canada, we invite everyone who interacts with this project to consider the imperialism of Classical Studies. The methods of the Academy, and of Classical Studies in particular, have historically been classist, sexist, racist, ableist, exclusionary, and violent.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">One of the purposes of acknowledging the land and its original inhabitants is to consider how indigenous ways of being and knowing are different from colonialist ways of being and knowing.
