{"id":4,"date":"2017-12-06T13:04:46","date_gmt":"2017-12-06T18:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pressbooks.bccampus.ca\/intropsychstudyguide\/2017\/12\/06\/introduction\/"},"modified":"2018-11-08T12:54:56","modified_gmt":"2018-11-08T17:54:56","slug":"introduction","status":"web-only","type":"front-matter","link":"https:\/\/pressbooks.bccampus.ca\/intropsychstudyguide\/front-matter\/introduction\/","title":{"raw":"Introduction","rendered":"Introduction"},"content":{"raw":"<h1>Before\/During Class<\/h1>\r\nBefore class skim through the material that will be covered to give yourself an overview, this will make it much easier to follow the class.\u00a0 During class do NOT try to write down everything the professor says!\u00a0 Pick out the important points but write enough so that your notes will make sense later \u2026\u2026. something like \u201cstudied rats\u201d is not likely to help you remember the material a few weeks later but \u201crats able to remember maze for 24 hours\u201d might.\r\n<h1>After Class<\/h1>\r\nWhenever possible you should review your notes a few hours after the class.\u00a0 If they don\u2019t make sense now then at least you might be able to remember enough to improve them.\r\n<h1>Studying for Exams<\/h1>\r\nExams will be much less stressful if you spread your studying out over a few weeks or at least a few days rather than just waiting until the night before the exam.\u00a0 Research has shown that reviewing material multiple times is a great way to help you remember it.\r\n<div class=\"textbox textbox--learning-objectives\"><header class=\"textbox__header\">\r\n<p class=\"textbox__title\">Learning Objectives<\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/header>\r\n<div class=\"textbox__content\">The Learning Objectives listed for each chapter are a good starting point for your studying.
