We also provided a simpler version of \u201cLa Ficelle\u201d by Guy de Maupassant.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Guy de Maupassant is a 19th century French writer. He is best known for his short stories. He was part of the literary movement of realism. We have chosen three texts from his short stories : \u201cLa Ficelle\u201d (1883), \u201cLe Papa de Simon\u201d (1879), and \u201cLe P\u00e8re\u201d \u00a0(1887). We encourage you to read his other books: <em>Le Horla<\/em>, <em>Boule de Suif<\/em> and <em>Une vie<\/em>.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Alphonse Daudet is also a 19th century writer, he is known by a collection of short stories: <i>Lettres de mon moulin<\/i>. We have chosen two texts from this collection: \u201cLa Ch\u00e8vre de Monsieur Seguin\u201d (1866) and \u201cLes \u00c9toiles\u201d (1873) and we encourage you to discover his other short stories as well.<\/span>\r\n\r\nWe also added \"L' Homme qui plantait des arbres\"\u00a0 which is a short story published in 1953 by French author Jean Giono. This text of 20th century adresses the concerns of our time, such as sustainable development, environmental protection and peace.
