1 3 Piece Transition
- From the shop drawing, create an end view of the fitting
- In the end view, label each piece with the amount of “drop” it has
- Look for the corner which appears as “dot”. The dot will show where a bend can occur and will have no slope
- Calculate the blank size for this piece. With no slope, it is merely the given length and the perimeter around the 2 sides
- Calculate the actual length of the two remaining pieces, based off the drop and finished length, using Pythagoras, A2 + B2 = C2
- Finish calculating the blank size for each piece and draw them
- Using the end view, imagine from the inside of the fitting, unfolding all the piece, to look at the inside of them. This can be done as a sketch or just imagining it. This will show how each piece will be laid out, remember to always layout to the inside of any fitting
- Mark each end with its opening sizes
- Complete the patterns by connecting each end
