The storybooks are suitable for audiences of all ages. Each story is self-contained and can be read in any order. The storybooks are available in audio and video format by following the links at the bottom of this page. A downloadable PDF version is also available by following the instructions linked on the following page: <a href=\"https:\/\/pressbooks.bccampus.ca\/livingwelldementiastories\/back-matter\/instructions-to-download-storybooks\/\">link<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">We encourage viewers to pause the audio or video at any point to have discussion. Other suggestions for using this resource from the community are below. <\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div><\/div>\r\n<div>\u201cMy hope is that families will share the stories together. \u00a0I think that young people need to have some reassurance and information about the symptoms of dementia. Reading together will give them security and the chance to have questions answered. Books could be displayed at seniors' places, public libraries and schools.\u201d<\/div>\r\n<div><\/div>\r\n<div>\u201cThe storybooks will have important impacts in environments where fear, confusion, and lack of information block understanding of dementia \u2013 for example in long-term care residences for access by health practitioners, Resident and Family Councils, Health authorities, college and university healthcare programs, family\/parenting groups and daycare services for appropriate aged children.\u201d<\/div>\r\n<div><\/div>\r\n<div>\u201cI\u2019m hoping that the stories will have broad appeal, but especially to stimulate intergenerational interaction. I also think that it could have potential to be brought into advance care planning conversations and stimulate some different kind of reflection\u2026that is, rather than developing a plan for only medical care at the end of life, the plan also includes some sort of social\/emotional\/spiritual care.
