Overview<\/h1>\r\n

In this chapter, you will learn how to ask and answer \u201cWhose is this?\u201d in polite Nepali. You will practice high-frequency possessive forms such as \u092e\u0947\u0930\u094b (mero<\/i>) \u201cmy,\u201d \u0924\u092a\u093e\u0908\u0902\u0915\u094b (tap\u0101\u012b\u0303ko<\/i>) \u201cyour\u201d (polite), and \u0909\u0939\u093e\u0901\u0915\u094b (uh\u0101\u0303ko<\/i>) \u201chis\/her\u201d (honorific).<\/p>\r\n

You will also learn how Nepali marks possession using the genitive ending -\u0915\u094b (-ko<\/i>). This ending can change to -\u0915\u0940 (-k\u012b<\/i>) with feminine nouns and -\u0915\u093e (-k\u0101<\/i>) with plural nouns, depending on what is being described. For example, \u092e\u0947\u0930\u094b \u0915\u0932\u092e (mero kalam<\/i>) \u201cmy pen,\u201d \u092e\u0947\u0930\u0940 \u0906\u092e\u093e (mer\u012b \u0101m\u0101<\/i>) \u201cmy mother,\u201d and \u092e\u0947\u0930\u093e \u092a\u0941\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0915\u0939\u0930\u0942 (mer\u0101 pustakhar\u016b<\/i>) \u201cmy books.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
