Nomination Phase

The nomination phase involves developing the nomination criteria, creating the nomination form, and crafting and promoting the call for submissions. Establishing clear nomination criteria and effectively promoting the call for submissions will help generate a large and varied pool of nominees to honour at your event.

OER Champions Nomination Timeline

Timeline before the Event Activity
5-4 months  Set meetings with the OER Champions Event Planning Team including student union groups (e.g. AMS/SUO), CTLT, and UBC Library.
5-4 months Develop OER Champions nomination criteria.
4-3 months Develop the letter/web post outlining the recognition event and nomination criteria.
4-3 months Develop the web form with the nomination criteria in a UBC survey system (e.g. Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
3 months Develop social media objects about the nominations. This should include a link to the nomination letter, criteria, and web form.
2 months Post the social media objects and webpage details about the nominations. Include the following sites:
AMS/SUO websites and social media
Open UBC Website
UBC Library Website
Provost Teaching and Learning Website
1 month  Collate nominations and evaluate for inclusion in the event.
