Online Course Guidelines

Students  choose online courses for their flexibility and seek a personalized experience from experts in the field. As an instructor, you curate valuable information and help students make connections between concepts.

Online courses, in general, differ from face-to-face courses in many ways. Asynchronous courses, for instance, lack the synchronized structure found in the traditional or synchronous online courses. For this reason, it is essential to incorporate alternative forms of structure into your OLO courses. Several factors need to be considered when designing OLO courses. Preparing for an OLO course involves more than as just copying materials from an OLM or HYB/HYX course. TLC developed these guidelines to outline the important considerations for developing effective online courses.
