The Fundamental Theory<\/h1>\r\nPalo Alto is a next-generation firewall. This means that it uses more advanced techniques to detect threats compared to a traditional firewall. Where a more traditional firewall would inspect source and destination IP addresses and ports, a next generation firewall would detect an application, user, or piece of content. From there we can choose to either allow, block, drop or reset the connection.\r\n
