Nevus depigmentosus might not be noticed at birth and become apparent at several years of age.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n\r\nNevus anemicus is an uncommon capillary malformation consisting of a localized area of vasoconstricted vessels. It appears as a hypopigmented patch with well defined but irregular borders.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n\r\nNevus depigmentosus and nevus anemicus can be differentiated clinically by applying pressure to the skin with a glass slide. A nevus anemicus will characteristically \u201cdisappear\u201d into the surrounding skin. Another technique is to rub the skin overlying the area, a nevus anemicus will stay hypopigmented but a nevus depigmentosus will become pink like the surrounding skin. There is no treatment necessary for either of these lesions.
