Grouping of Lesions<\/h1>\r\nIn addition to describing the appearance of the individual lesions and any changes which have occurred, it is often helpful to describe the shape of the lesion or the pattern of distribution with multiple lesions.\r\n

Discrete<\/strong><\/td>\r\nIndividual lesions remain separate from each other.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Grouped or clustered<\/strong><\/td>\r\nMultiple individual lesions appearing in one area.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Confluent<\/strong><\/td>\r\nIndividual lesions tend to blend together where they touch to form larger lesions.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Annular<\/strong><\/td>\r\nRing shaped; arranged in a circle with prominence of features on the periphery<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Arcuate<\/strong><\/td>\r\nArranged in an arc-like formation<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Nummular<\/strong><\/td>\r\nCoin-shaped lesions; round and discrete but usually not annular<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
