They generally either rapidly involute (Rapidly Involuting Congenital Hemangioma, RICH) or they persist unchanged (Non-involuting Congenital Hemangioma, NICH). Congenital hemangiomas are equally present in males and females.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n<h1>What does it look like?<\/h1>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n\r\nWhen compared with an infantile hemangioma, congenital hemangiomas tend to present as deeper nodules with overlying prominent telangiectasia and peripheral pallor. RICH can completely involute by 12-15 months old and can leave residual atrophy. Possible complications include necrosis, ulceration and bleeding.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n<h1>How is it treated?<\/h1>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div style=\"font-weight: 400\">\r\n\r\nCongenital hemangiomas do not respond to beta-blocker therapy.\u00a0 RICH do not require treatment since they generally involute.
