Principles of Marketing is adapted from a work produced and distributed under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC-SA) in 2010 by a publisher who has requested that they and the original author not receive attribution.

This book has been adapted on 2 occasions.

The first adaptation of this book was done in 2013 by the University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing through the eLearning Support Initiative. In that adaptation, the book reformatted the original text and replaced some images and figures to make the resulting whole more shareable. This adaptation did not significantly alter the original 2010 text and was released under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.

A second and subsequent adaptation of the University of Minnesota book was done in 2021 by Dr. Biggi Weischedel of Thompson Rivers University as part of a BCcampus open education grant. Dr. Weischedel created the H5P activities in the book. The 2021 adaptation by BCcampus also updated numerous broken links in the book, replaced or removed broken images and videos, and fixed numerous formatting issues in the book. This 2021 adaptation is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.
