Indicate which tasks are the highest priority.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Break large tasks into smaller units.\u00a0 Consider what you will accomplish in one work period (usually about one hour before taking a break).\u00a0 Create tasks that are well-defined; you should know when the task is finished.\u00a0 For example, \"work on research paper\" does not have a clear goal.\u00a0 By changing this to \"find three academic articles for research paper\", or \"create research paper outline\", you will be able to clearly see what you need to accomplish.\u00a0 You will also be able to reward yourself for successful completion.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nCheck off tasks as you complete them.\u00a0 This will increase your sense of accomplishment and create forward momentum.\u00a0 When you have finished the day's tasks, celebrate with a well-earned reward.\u00a0 Move any tasks yet to be completed to tomorrow's task list.\r\n<div class=\"bcc-box bcc-info\">\r\n<h3 itemprop=\"educationalUse\">Try it!<\/h3>\r\nFor the next week, commit to a system for daily to-do lists.\u00a0 Use a paper planner (the KSA distributes these to students for free), or an app.\u00a0 There are many excellent free task management apps available, including Wunderlist (www.wunderlist.com) and Microsoft To-Do (https:\/\/todo.microsoft.com\/)\r\n\r\nAfter you have implemented your system for one week, re-evaluate.\u00a0 Continue what works for you, and make any modifications needed.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"bcc-box bcc-highlight\">\r\n<h3 itemprop=\"educationalUse\">Extend Your Learning<\/h3>\r\nWant to explore further ways of managing your time?
