Use the\u00a0<strong>Raise Hand<\/strong>\u00a0feature to notify\u00a0the presenter when you have a question or comment. Your\u00a0instructor will cue you when it is the best time to ask questions or add comments.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>We recommend that you always\u00a0<strong>Mute<\/strong>\u00a0your microphone when you are not speaking. Use the\u00a0<strong>Mute\/<\/strong>Unmute button like a toggle - mute when you are not speaking and unmute when your\u00a0instructor or team invites you to speak.\u00a0If you start speaking while muted, Teams will\u00a0notify you that\u00a0<em>Your microphone is muted<\/em>.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be sure to follow your instructor's\u00a0guidelines\u00a0for\u00a0the types of\u00a0<strong>chat<\/strong>\u00a0messages that are appropriate for your online class. Note that this is group chat \u2014 not one-on-one chat. Remember that all student code of conduct rules apply in all class meetings.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>If your instructor does want you to turn your video camera on, blur or change your background\u00a0to protect your privacy and reduce distractions. To\u00a0change your background, use the\u00a0<strong>Apply background effects<\/strong>\u00a0option from the\u00a0<strong>More actions<\/strong>\u00a0menu. This will open a panel on the right side of the screen with several background options.&nbsp;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>If you have any audio issues, you can\u00a0<strong>Turn on live captions<\/strong>\u00a0from the\u00a0<strong>More actions<\/strong>\u00a0menu.\u00a0MS Teams will attempt to convert all spoken text to written text that you can read.\u00a0<strong>Closed captions<\/strong>\u00a0will only display for you, your class will not know that you have it enabled.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>If you are having poor network quality,\u00a0MS Teams will alert you with a message that\u00a0<em>Your network is causing poor call quality.\u00a0 These are some things you can do:<\/em>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>If you are using your webcam, click the\u00a0<strong>camera on\/off<\/strong>\u00a0button to disable your video feed.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>On the\u00a0<strong>More Actions<\/strong>\u00a0menu, click the\u00a0<strong>Turn off incoming video<\/strong>\u00a0button to reduce the amount of network traffic\u00a0you need for the meeting\u00a0.
