163 Student Study Guide Option

These are the two options for H5P Review components. Our team strongly suggests option 1. The rationale is listed below.

Option 1 – Create a Pathology Student Study Guide separate from the Pathology Textbook

Rationale
  1. The ability to clone your Pathology textbook is a problem as there are so many media elements, H5P embeds, and naming conventions that are too similar. This cause an error in cloning the text, this limiting the ability for people to reuse the text in Pressbooks.
  2. The review sections are completely built in H5p as interacetives and won’t benefit from the creation of a flat pdf version as they would completely need to be rethought and structured (e.g. Crosswords). It would make sense to have an guide separated out with only online interactives. The interactives can be linked in the book prior to the post test.

Option 2 – Add all Review H5P to the End of the Chapter

Rationale
  1. There are many H5P review components per chapter which don’t fit easily after each section. Combining all review content into a single end chapter labeled “Chapter Review – TITLE OF THE CHAPTER” is a clear way to indicate the purpose of the content and where it can be located in each part of the book.

Review Style

All H5P review content will be located under descriptive titles and under h1 headings to create an accordion. The accordion supports download speed issues and visual cleanliness of the page.  The colour of the H1 heading can be modified.

The review page should have a shaded textbox indicating what the page is used for and what chapter review it refers to. The colour of the textbox can be modified.

All H5P that have description options should be standardized to indicate what the students will need to do to complete the H5P interactive and to navigate it as many can be confusing. For example, this could be a description – Use the following flashcards to test your knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the heart.  Select “Next Card” to move to the next flashcard.
