The purpose of this book is to provide undergraduate nursing students the skills, knowledge and understanding of the research process and how it applies to both academic and practice settings. Using scientific inquiry-based methods, research will produce new knowledge, synthesize existing research, and critically examine existing research for it’s replicability.

Successful research projects are based in a good understanding of research methodologies and planning critically. This book will provide practical examples and insights to provide students with a basic foundation in how to conduct research, making it an invaluable reference as they move forward in both their academic studies and their practice.

The book is a compilation of articles, videos, and other media that will give an overview of the entire research process, starting with what research is, and why and moving through different methodologies, Indigenous ways of Knowing, and the use of AI in research. It will delve into theoretical frameworks, legal and ethical considerations, and show how to translate the knowledge into a cohesive understanding of the topic.
