Research data is an important asset.
It allows you to answer your research questions and represents a considerable investment of time and attention through the efforts involved in data collection and subsequent processing and preparation of data for analysis. As such, it is important to consider the risk of data loss and needs for data security so that you can appropriately plan how to handle and store your data. Planning for how your data will be stored and secured throughout its lifecycle, both during active phases of your project and after the project is completed, is important. What types of storage will you need to facilitate how you (or you and your team members) plan to work with your data?
