69 What are Data Repositories?

Previous Lesson

Lesson 5 of 16

A data repository is a place you can store your data to make it findable and accessible to others.

Ideally, a repository should also be stewarding the data to ensure it is preserved and continues to be accessible for an appropriate length of time. Policies about retention periods and what types of data a repository accepts can vary, so it is good to understand those policies and procedures before depositing your data.
