60 Working Remotely

Previous Lesson

Lesson 14 of 18

If you work on a computer that is not on your institution’s network or is not owned by your institution, there are additional security considerations because the system and its security is not being maintained by your institution’s IT team.

Some general guidelines for this include:

  • Try to work on a computer only you have access to (avoid using public computers).
  • Keep your computer up-to-date with software patches and install anti-virus software.
  • Do not use public networks, or conference or hotel Wi-Fi to access private data.
