SE BROSSER (to brush onself)

Singulier Pluriel
je me brosse nous nous brossons
tu te brosses vous vous brosses
il, elle, iel, on se brosse ils, elles se brossent
S’AMUSER (to have fun)
Singulier Pluriel
je m’amuse nous nous amusons
tu t’amuses vous vous amusez
il, elle, iel, on s’amuse ils, elles s’amusent

Verbs ending in -er with minor spelling changes in the stem

1. Verbs like SE LEVER or SE PROMENER : the unaccented e of the second last syllable is not pronounced in the infinitive or in the nous and vous form. However, when the verb ending is silent, this e becomes è and is pronounced like the open e sound of the word ‘bet’.

SE LEVER (to get up)
Singulier Pluriel
je me lève nous nous levons
tu te lèves vous vous levez
il, elle, iel, on se lève ils, elles se lèvent

SE PROMENER (to go for a walk)

Singulier Pluriel
je me promène nous nous promenons
tu te promènes vous vous promenez
il, elle, iel, on se promène ils, elles se promènent

2. Verbs like S’APPELER : the unaccented e of the second last syllable is also a mute e that is silent in the infinitive or in the nous and vous form.  However, when the verb ending is silent, this l is doubled and the is pronounced like the open e sound of the word ‘bet’.

S’APPELER (to call oneself)

je m’appelle nous nous appelons
tu t’appelles vous vous appelez
il, elle, iel, on s’appelle ils, elles s’appellent
