9 Number of paths to the same destination

This last point is a culmination of the previous four.  Adaptive learning platforms are designed to take learners through different learning paths, but they all have to complete the same learning objectives.  Adaptive learning platforms do not use a “one size fits all” style of instruction, rather it learns how the student engages with content and will then provide paths that complement the student rather than have the student adapt to the content.  In order for this to be successful, the course has to be planned out so that there are many different paths to the same learning objectives. Much like a choose your own adventure, students follow their own path and end up at the same conclusion.

Some students may already have the knowledge needed to satisfy the subject matter. Other students may need help from the very basics and build from there. When designing a course, the instructor has to take a more modular approach to design rather than a scaffolded approach
