Case 1: Scenario Briefing and Pre-Learning

Scenario Briefing

- NAME: Lee Jung
- AGE: 78 Years Old
- SEX: Male
- PAST MEDICAL HISTORY: Cardiac disease, Atrial Fibrillation, HTN
- MEDICATIONS AT HOME: Digoxin
- SOCIAL HISTORY: An active senior participating in community and social gatherings.
Lee is a 78-year-old man who lives in his own home. He has a 5-year history of atrial fibrillation and hypertension and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last year. He also has expressed feeling anxious at times.
He regularly attends a Healthy Heart Adult Day Program for older adults.
You are a student nurse at the program and are helping to lead a session on heart health.
Prerequisite Knowledge
For this case, it is anticipated that you would have basic competence in the following areas:
