Business Law I: Essentials – OpenStax (CC BY)

Business Law I Essentials is a brief introductory textbook designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of courses on Business Law or the Legal Environment of Business. The concepts are presented in a streamlined manner, and cover the key concepts necessary to establish a strong foundation in the subject. The textbook follows a traditional approach to the study of business law. Each chapter contains learning objectives, explanatory narrative and concepts, references for further reading, and end-of-chapter questions.

An undergraduate business law textbook written by Melissa Randall and Community College of Denver Students in collaboration with lawyers and business professionals for use in a required 200-level business law courses in the United States. This book is a introductory survey of the legal topics required in undergraduate business law classes.

This book explores business ethics and business law through the lens of Indigenous-settler relations in Canada (with a focus on British Columbia in particular). It aims to fill a gap in business curriculum and support instructors who want to bring Indigenous content into their classes. The book starts by exploring relevant history, focusing on treaties, legislation, and federal government policy. It then looks at business ethics and what it means for businesses to work ethically with Indigenous communities. And finally, the book discusses business law and the requirements and responsibilities for businesses doing work on Indigenous lands.

This OER Canadian Business Law textbook has been developed to provide a comprehensive and accessible overview of the legal framework and the laws that govern businesses in Canada. It covers the fundamentals of Canadian business law, including contract law, business legislation, intellectual property law, business ethics, legal risk management, and bankruptcy law in addition to other important topics. The content provides insight into the legal environment in which businesses operate and outlines the principles of identifying, managing, and avoiding legal risks. At the end of each chapter are questions for consideration, cases of interest, and links to websites and other resources that may be of interest.
