This book is based on a pre-existing openly licensed textbook donated to the commons by a benefactor who desires to remain anonymous. It has been collaboratively revised and updated by students and faculty at the University of Saskatchewan.

This book covers the basics of project management. This includes the process of initiation, planning, execution, control and close out that all projects share. This book has been adapted by the author as of August 15, 2014. The adaptation includes Canadianized content, PowerPoints, Audio Files, and Chapter Questions, which are located in the book’s appendixes.

This book is the result of a collaboration among the instructors responsible for Technical Project Management, one of the ten required classes in the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This class is designed to help students build on their past experiences and develop effective strategies for managing complex technical projects, with an emphasis on applying project management concepts to real-world problems.
