Each case of cancer will have a unique prognosis with some cases more easily treated than others. The life expectancy and death rates for specific cancers vary and depend on underlying health factors and availability of treatments.
Cancer-Free State for an adult is typically defined as five years survival without recurrence. For childhood cancers (e.g., leukemia), a cancer-free state often requires a longer period (i.e. 10 years) for consideration of cure.
Remission is defined as no clinical signs of cancer.
