CURB-65
Purpose Assess the severity and risk of mortality in patients diagnosed with community acquired pneumonia. The results will help determine if patients should be treated in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
Type of Resource Scoring tool
Included Tool consists of risk factors associated with mortality in CAP patients.

Interpretation of Results:

  1. 0-1: outpatient
  2. 2: inpatient
  3. 3+: ICU

Pnemonia Severity Index (PSI)
Purpose Assess risk of mortality in patients with community acquired pneumonia and determine if patient should be admitted to hospital for treatment.

Interpretation of Results:

  • If score is ≥91 points, then hospitalization is recommended
