Atomic Structure

We use electricity every day. Home appliances, cellular phones, stereos, computers, and even vehicles use electricity. To understand what electricity is, we need to look into the smallest basis in all matter: the atom.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • Describe the basic structure of an atom.
  • Explain the concept of electric charge.
