Part 1 – Preoperations

Overview

This Part outlines the steps of performing preoperations in the lab prior to flying the image acquisition mission. This is a critical aspect of operations during which the UAS is prepared to safely and efficiently carry out the mission. All hardware and software components are tested and configured prior to heading out to the field in order to ensure safety and mission success.

Chapters included in this Part are;

  • Component Inspection
  • Assembling & Testing UAS

Ideally, preoperations are carried out at least one day prior to flying the mission in order to allow sufficient time to charge batteries, update the firmware, software and applications and address any minor technical concerns.
