Land Acknowledgement

Maintaining an Online Presence is a collaboration of faculty and students at Camosun College in Victoria, B.C. Camosun campuses are located on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We acknowledge with respect that we do our research, writing, learning, and teaching on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen People, the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationship to these lands continue to this day. We also acknowledge our responsibility to seek and learn from opportunities for truth telling and reconciliation, and the need to engage in the ongoing work of decolonizing our campus communities both inside and outside the classroom.

When we position ourselves in space and time we make it known that we have been here on these lands and we are a part of them.
