Accessibility

The online version of Building Resilient Rural Communities has been designed with accessibility in mind and meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 level AA whenever possible. In addition, it follows the guidelines in the Pressbooks Accessibility Toolkit: Checklist for Accessibility.  The following features have been included:

  • Easy navigation through sequential headings and subheadings that can be controlled through keyboard commands
  • All video clips include the option to turn on captions
  • All images that contain pertinent information have alternative text. Decorative images do not contain alternative text
  • All links use descriptive text and open in the same tab

The Pressbooks platform was selected for Building Resilient Rural Communities due to its commitment to accessible learning. Pressbooks’ full accessibility statement outlines how this is achieved.
