The skin is a three-dimensional structure and there are several terms that can be used to describe the surface texture or shape of lesions.
Lichenoid | Flat-topped and slightly scaly |
Dome-shaped | Smoothly rounded |
Verrucous | A rough and irregular or bumpy surface |
Ulbilicated | Has central depression |
Filiform | Thread-like |
Pedunculated | On a narrow stalk |
