Surface Change and Shape

The skin is a three-dimensional structure and there are several terms that can be used to describe the surface texture or shape of lesions.

Lichenoid Flat-topped and slightly scaly
Dome-shaped Smoothly rounded
Verrucous A rough and irregular or bumpy surface
Ulbilicated Has central depression
Filiform Thread-like
Pedunculated On a narrow stalk
