Skills Building and Capstone Project Proposal

Part A (1 page or equivalent in a different format)

Thinking about your goals for this course, identify and describe a capstone project that will serve your learning and your work.

The capstone might be an internal or external communications or engagement strategy; a project plan; a personal plan for deepening specific skills, an important upcoming presentation, etc…) This assignment can be submitted in a variety of formats.

Part B (1-2 pages or equivalent in a different format)

As part of completing this capstone, please respond to the following questions:

  • Why have you chosen this project?
  • What difference do you hope it will make for you and your work?
  • Which course concepts are less clear or would benefit from continued exploration?
  • What is your plan for continuing this learning?

Additional capstone project considerations

This course has emphasized application and implementation as the ‘test’ for effective strategy. This capstone aims to provide a structured way to harvest the concepts, approaches and tools that are most relevant for your work and to consider how they will influence this work going forward. Therefore, the criteria for this capstone are measured against the degree to which they serve your learning. With that in the mind, this project should demonstrate:

  • Which key course concepts are most relevant for your work; and
  • How these concepts are being integrated/applied.
