先生方へ For Instructors

The readings have been rated subjectively for lower-and-upper-level beginners and intermediate-level students, but in fact the assigned ratings may be more closely aligned with generally-accepted and articulated standards for Japanese curriculum within the British Columbia post-secondary system.  The vocabulary and kanji that are introduced in the exercises are considered by the author to be the most useful for the context, and may or may not correspond with the usual items included in beginning and intermediate-level textbooks.

The original intention of the author was to focus on beginning language levels, but as the writing progressed, it became apparent that in order to sufficiently deal with content, the majority of the readings were at the upper beginner to intermediate level. It is hoped that in the future more lower beginner-level readings will be added by the author, by other instructors, and by students. One of the tenets of the Open Education philosophy is collaboration, with an emphasis on student participation, so the author would be very grateful to receive contributions to enhance the content of the eText.

This eText is intended to be used in a modular form, when and where the content of the readings complement instructors’ curriculum. Instructors and independent learners can use the text and exercises (created with H5P) online or download individual pages.
