Chapter 6 – Talking about Location
Unit 1 — Key Vocabulary
In this unit, you will learn common Nepali words for talking about location. You will practise using words such as कहाँ (kahā̃) “where,” यहाँ (yahā̃) “here,” त्यहाँ (tyahā̃) “there,” भित्र (bhitra) “inside,” बाहिर (bāhira) “outside,” माथि (māthi) “on top/above,” and मुनि (muni) “under/below.”
Study the words below first. Read each Nepali word, look at the transliteration, and practise saying it aloud. Use the English meaning to check your understanding.

Look around your room or classroom. Choose five objects and describe where they are in Nepali.
