Chapter 9 – Giving Commands and Reporting Actions
Unit 1 — Key Vocabulary
In this unit, you will learn common Nepali words for giving simple commands and reporting actions. You will practise action verbs such as बस्नु (basnu) “to sit,” उठ्नु (uṭhnu) “to stand up,” खोल्नु (kholnu) “to open,” पढ्नु (paḍhnu) “to read,” लेख्नु (lekhnu) “to write,” and पिउनु (piunu) “to drink.”
Study the words below first. Read each Nepali word, look at the transliteration, and practise saying it aloud. Use the English meaning to check your understanding.

Reporting Actions
Use these patterns to say what you do or will do.
