Chapter 10 – Introductions and Social Exchanges
Overview
In this chapter, you will learn how to introduce yourself and others in polite Nepali in everyday settings such as a college orientation or community space. You will practice asking and answering about names, where someone is from using –bāṭa, where someone lives or where home is using –mā, and basic nationality statements. You will also learn the difference between identity sentences using the ho series and feelings/state sentences using the cha series. Throughout the chapter, you will use small natural words like pani, ni, and la to make conversations sound smoother and more natural.
