Model Dialogues
These model dialogues are short, classroom-friendly conversations for practising polite “daily life” Nepali. You will work on four core areas: numbers (१–२०), telling time with baje and common time words (like savā “quarter past”), days of the week and class days, and simple weekly routines using familiar verb patterns and polite questions such as tapāī̃ kati baje…? As you practise, notice the repeating question words (kati, kun, ke bār) and the common Nepali pattern of placing the verb at the end. Read first for meaning, then repeat key lines aloud, and finally swap in your own days, times, and numbers for speaking practice.
Number Dictation Check
Ms. Sharma (the teacher) reviews numbers 1–20 and checks what a student writes on the board.

Check in before Class
Sita and Kiran meet in the hallway before class. They greet each other, ask the time, and talk about when the class starts and how many students are in the class.

Asking the Day and Class Time
Nisha is a new student. She meets a classmate, Anup, and asks what day it is today and tomorrow. Then she asks which days the class meets and what time it starts.
